About TyGrowing up in Idaho as a gay individual with gender issues Ty's biggest childhood accomplishment was survival.
They endured teasing, physical threats, and kids pulling their pants down or crawling under bathroom stalls to watch them use the bathroom. Sometimes Ty screamed, cried, and threw things, which resulted in school administrators locking Ty in closets and isolating them further. Ty was surrounded by adults who chose silence over advocating for them. Yet, despite those around them, Ty grew more determined to succeed. That determination has since inspired Ty into action. They have been arrested while silently, respectfully, and peacefully advocating to change Idaho’s existing Human Rights laws. Ty is driven to make a difference in laws and policies. Ty dvocates that it is time for Boise State University to make changes that will make a world of difference to the LGBTQA and gender non-conforming students, by being advocates for those who most need it. |
