About ReedReed was born and raised in the sunny Southern California town Huntington Beach where he spent his time fishing, hiking and surfing. Reed now spends most of his free time exploring the beautiful landscape of Idaho, taking on fun DIY projects and advocating for active bystander education.
Reed is planning to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Business. After graduation, he plans on utilizing his engineering skills to give back through the organization Engineers Without Borders. His goal is to help design sustainable solutions for communities in order to help them meet their basic human needs. After that he plans to work for the IDEO, a company that has long been at the forefront of creating change through design. |
Reed's Project
Reed believes that Boise State students smart, driven, and adventurous, but they also care about the community they live in. Rather than being passive bystanders when they witness troubling behavior, they strive to be active bystanders who take action to make sure that Boise State is a safe, accepting and fun place to spend four years.
Even though students drive to do the right thing, there are times when preventable injustices are happening on this campus, and nothing is done. That is because often students just don’t know how to respond.
The majority of Boise State students haven’t received active bystander training and are therefore unprepared to intervene when the time comes. Reed is tackling this issue by bringing bystander education into the residence halls. Please follow his story and find out how you can help make this.
